Casper Firefighter

Brian Dixon

Winner will be drawn and announced on

Friday, April 17, 2026

Brian Dixon is a Captain with the Casper Fire Department, where he has devoted 23 years to serving the people of Casper, both within the community and within the department. He’s known for his work ethic, his toughness, but most of all his positivity. You won’t catch him without a smile. Even on the worst calls at 2 AM, he’ll be grinning away, making sure his crew enjoys the job.

Outside of work he’s husband to Caitlin, a nurse. They have a blended family with 3 girls, 3 boys, and two grandkids.

In all his roles, co-worker, supervisor, dad, “Poppa D”, and friend he’s always quick to lend a hand to whomever needs help.

He was diagnosed with Stage 3 mantle cell lymphoma a few weeks ago, in a whirlwind that started with Brian thinking he had kidney stones. While this is a rare and particularly aggressive cancer, Brian has attacked it with all the optimism and energy he’s so well known for. He was eager to begin chemo to take the fight to “the alien invader”. The planned aggressive chemo and other therapies will keep the Dixon's busy between Casper, and Denver with some treatments requiring them to travel. Caitlin has used local media coverage as an opportunity to push for better cancer screening for all firefighters. Even in crisis, she has wanted to be sure it’s not just about her and Brian, but to ensure their battle can benefit fire families into the future.

Brian’s brother, Adam, works with Jacksonville Fire Rescue. An anonymous donor has generously donated a firearm to be raffled off to assist Brian and Caitlin with their expenses during this battle. The Casper Firefighters and the Dixons are eternally grateful for the community near and far that has stepped up to help in this season.
